On September 12, the Ukrainian agriholding “Mriya” was acquired by SALIC UK Ltd.

This agreement is one of the most significant in the Ukrainian agrarian sector in recent years: the acquisition of a company with a large debt load after the default in 2014 has shown that investors are not losing interest in Ukraine, and we, in turn, continue to build comfortable fair conditions, reliable relations that contribute to improving the overall investment climate in the country.

The completion of the transaction will be possible after obtaining the approval of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) and fulfillment of other conditions typical for such transactions. Upon completion of the deal, Mriya will continue its operations in Ukraine in conjunction with the SALIC — Continental Farmers Group (CFG).

For the purpose of this agreement, Baker Tilly, an independent member of Baker Tilly International, which is among the top 10 international accounting and consulting networks in the world, was involved for conducting tax due diligence of the Mriya Group of Companies.

Mriya is one of the largest Ukrainian agro companies that processes 150 thousand hectares in six regions of Western Ukraine. It owes 4 modern elevator complexes with a total capacity of 380 thousand tons, a potato storage facility with a total capacity of 52 thousand tons, seed and starch factories.

SALIC UK is a subsidiary of Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company joint-stock company owned by the Public Investment Fund of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The company’s activities are aimed at investing in agriculture and livestock production in countries with a competitive advantage in promoting food production and their availability for export markets.
