100 Years of Partnership: Baker Tilly at the Strategic Roundtable with the UK Parliament
On February 23, 2026, Oleksandr Pochkun, Managing Partner of Baker Tilly Ukraine, joined a business roundtable organized by BUCC and USUBC for the UK’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on Ukraine.
The Kyiv gathering brought together British and Ukrainian MPs, alongside business leaders from the UK, Ukraine, and the US. The core focus was the groundbreaking 100-year UK-Ukraine partnership, hailed by delegation chair Alex Sobel MP as the foundation for long-lasting joint working.
The partnership spans 9 strategic pillars, including:
- Strengthening defense capabilities and security;
- Economic cooperation and trade agreement modernization;
- Innovation in AI, Agri-tech, and the energy transition;
- Socio-cultural, sports, and youth ties.

As one of the panelist, Oleksandr Pochkun urged a paradigm shift in investment thinking amid wartime:
"The war has lasted four years already, and no one knows how much longer it will continue. Even when it ends, our neighbor Russia, unfortunately, isn't going anywhere. Living in a state of war is our new reality.
Don't postpone seeking investment opportunities until full peace arrives. We must accept this reality and unlock Ukraine's potential now, when it's needed most. It bolsters our defense capabilities and gives investors a chance to build the unique resilience the world may soon need. There are plenty of opportunities here – join us!"

Proud to be a part of this dialogue opening doors to bold decisions and investments. We're convinced: now is the time to lay the foundation for our shared economic resilience for decades ahead.
