Today is an exciting day as we announce that Ted Verkade has been named to continue to move the network forward in the role as chief executive officer (CEO) and president.
In June 2016 Geoff will retire after 16 years as CEO and president of the Baker Tilly International network. The network’s Succession Planning Committee elected EMEA regional chairman, Baker Tilly International project director and Baker Tilly Berk managing director Ted Verkade to succeed Geoff. Ted’s leadership qualities, vision, focus on driving international business growth and developing member network services make him an excellent fit to lead the network.
During the next 12 months Ted and Geoff will work closely on a transition programme. Their focus will be to continue to deliver the network’s strategic objectives of investing in the markets where our clients need us, building valued client-advisor relationships and demonstrating leadership and integrity to deliver high quality client services.
In closing, we would like to pay tribute to Geoff for his tremendous dedication and enthusiasm over the last 16 years. Under his leadership, the network has grown its combined revenues from US$900m to US$3.6bn and its coverage from 59 countries to 133 countries. Geoff has provided the network with solid foundations which Ted and other members of the International Board will continue to build upon and grow in the future.
